The quartz family is vast, including stones such as agate, chalcedony, carnelian, amethyst, citrine, jasper, chrysoprase and herkimer diamond and has been favoured since the Bronze age. Largely carved into decorations with a high degree of detail including ornate vessels and jewellery like finely detailed intaglios and cameos, faceted beads and prismatic shapes, quartz was long believed to be ancient water ice, now made permanent by the passage of time. This ring is a size 6, with a comfortable, half-round band that has been satin finished for a soothing feel. The ring's simple surface has a bright polish to contrast the darkened, etched design of hearts and tiny leaves and the tall fine silver bezel is bright and shiny.
This ring measures just under 1" (2.5 cm) at its longest point, and 5/8" (1.6 cm) at its widest and the ring band is 1/8" (3.5 mm) wide. It cannot be resized, as the stone is securely bezel set.

I love etching silver, as it allows my love of drawing and painting to jump from paper and canvas to silver plate. I draw everything by hand, no transfers, no reproductions, so the effect is absolutely immediate and one of a kind...making the result a little more magical, i think. <3
