Me and Mike. Now you know our faces.

Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I can't promise much more than a rambling discussion about life, creative process, health, food and kitties.
I tend to swear a lot.
I'm stoked youโ€™re here; after reading a bit, I hope you still will be as well!

Birfday:)

I know it's technically over, but it's still my birthday until I go to sleep...in a few minutes...Why this might've been the best birthday ever...1.) Got to spend it with Mike. And, intermittently, T-Doggg. And chocolate. Lots of it. 2.) Mega sleep in. 3.) Mega breakfast. Cream cheese and raspberry crepe, bowl of cafe latte. I could eat that everyday for breakfast and I would never, EVER complain. About anything ever again, in fact. 4.) MIke and Tony gifted me an iPhone Touch. Insert girlie scream here: eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I'm still in shock and can't believe I own the most techno-awesome gadget in the known universe. I can now keep in touch with my real work when I'm simply puttin' in time at my 'work!' Kickass! 5.) Mike bought me Tetris for the touch! ;) Work? What work...? 6.) I think that I must've gotten about 50 emails/FB wall greetings with birthday wishes. That just flat out rocks. Mike says to me "there are a whole lot of people who like you a whole lot!" *beams* I was really feeling the love today. Even my Etsy site wished me happy birthday...nice Etsy robots! 7.) Ended up having a very relaxing afternoon at home, updating Etsy and enjoying wearing pjs and watching the snow come down. Lovely. We should all be so lucky as to spend our birthdays like this. 8.) Had a stupendously delicious dinner at Paradiso in downtown Oakville tonight. Snagged a candlelit window seat and had steak tartare, mushroom croustini and linguine pescatore that was transcendentally good. Mike and I literally floated back to the car, despite the full bellies, in food afterglow, it was that good. 9.) Was given an amazing piece of chocolate truffle torte as a birthday gift at the restaurant, with two forks for sharing. It was gorgeous, and very kindly given to us by our awesome waiter. Memorably, he had put a candle in it and lit it, so I did actually get to blow out a candle and wish. And man, did I wish good. I really appreciated that 42.8 seconds...completely unexpected, and it was as sweet and awesome as the cake. It's funny how important silly little rituals like blowing out a birthday candle can be... 10.) Got beautiful cards (and a sweet gift) from my parents. An amazing email from my mom. A nice chat with Dad, and a nice chat with Amie, and a nice chat with Audrey. I got my husband all to myself for hours at a time, and we laughed our asses off. Was crawled upon by cats who apparently appreciate me. All felt right in my world, and I felt that my life is luxuriously appointed with amazing people. Happy birthday to me...and thanks for all of it. Bring on 33.

Hearts Rock. For Reals.

How is it that today is Feb. 17...
